THE SHORT VERSION

The final recipe simplifies the earlier experiments into warm pale flesh and bright orange carapace against dark blue weapons. Blue-grey joints, pink eyes and a cold grey base sharpen the contrast without adding too many stages. Emily chooses methods she can apply repeatedly to a Combat Patrol rather than preserve the most elaborate treatment from each test.
