Battle Report: The End of All Things

THE SHORT VERSION

Six players recreate the linked Black Gate and Mount Doom finale from Quest of the Ringbearer. Frodo’s exhaustion and Gollum’s interference prolong the smaller game while the defenders at the gate suffer disastrous duels against an almost unkillable Troll Chieftain. Frodo finally destroys the Ring, but every major hero outside Mordor has fallen, producing the scenario’s bitterly appropriate draw rather than an uncomplicated victory.
