Visions of Warhammer
December 2023·pp. 122–129
THE SHORT VERSION
Rodrigo Lucas Frías explains how a miniature’s pose suggests the story and composition of a diorama. His scenes range from a Pied Piper-like Necron patrol and a reclining Nagash receiving a book to a mine defence, a vehicle chase, airborne Stormboyz and a trapped Escher fighter. Foam landscapes, cotton-wool dust, expanding-foam exhaust and tinted resin are chosen to communicate movement, atmosphere or danger, with unfamiliar techniques tested before they reach the final scene.
