The Tyrannic Wars
July 2023·pp. 50–57
THE SHORT VERSION
A sequence of rival Imperial pamphlets frames the Fourth Tyrannic War as a struggle over information as well as survival. Stenosavant Thoramanda Lhyng minimises earlier invasions and insists faith and Imperial forces will stop the new threat; strategos Sabith D’otramar counters with the cost of Macragge, Kraken’s surviving splinters and Leviathan’s immense reach. Their debate introduces the Nautilon, Promethor and Grendyllus tendrils approaching the Imperium’s heart.
D’otramar argues that rapid Solblade forces are only a temporary response and that fortified anchor worlds and protected supply routes must support a sustained campaign. Lhyng answers increasingly with accusations of heresy and dangerous curiosity, culminating in the announcement that her patron’s guards will seize the strategos. The unreliable documents contrast necessary intelligence with the politics and censorship of Terra.
