THE SHORT VERSION

A circle of nine corrupting obelisks improves heroic renown and sends fighters searching for treasures. The resulting lesser artefacts range from jade oil and a sacrificial dagger to captured heroes and shattered rival icons, supporting abilities and disrupting opponents. Name and origin tables then frame the warband as exiles, sculptors or unwilling servants whose petrification prevents rebellion; the closing photographs stage both factions in the Gnarlwood.
