Vurnok the Grey herds the loyalist boarding party into a kill-box by manipulating the Ark’s energy barriers. Blood Angels and Tome Keepers make a costly stand while their Techmarine sabotages the field controls. A Librarian traps Vurnok in a perceptual fugue long enough for the loyalists to escape; humiliated, he warns Czagra that their target is probably the warp portal and demands renewed pursuit.
