Painting Bloody Trees
October 2022·p. 55
THE SHORT VERSION
A six-stage alternative paints a tree with drybrushed texture before a deep red Contrast coat and glossy finish make it appear wet and fleshy. Bone, earth, ropes and metal receive simple supporting colours, creating a disturbing focal piece from an efficient process suited to repeating across a battlefield.
