Forbidden technology preserves a fighter and prevents several lasting injuries, but every avoided injury deepens its hold on the body and mind. Increasing insanity eventually gives way to the fighter’s permanent disappearance into the underhive, turning continued survival into a steadily advancing loss of humanity.
