Quicksilver Bases
February 2019·p. 93
THE SHORT VERSION
The molten-metal base is painted separately from Thostos so broad drybrushing cannot spoil the finished character. Coppery, weathered rocks contrast with a flatter opaque silver pool: the change in texture, rather than a complicated liquid pattern, makes the quicksilver appear heavy and viscous beside the crumbling shore.
