Golden Demon: Imperial Fists Leviathan Dreadnought

January 2019·pp. 76–77

THE SHORT VERSION

Andrew reposes a Leviathan to suggest turning into battle amid the Imperial Palace’s rubble. Airbrushed yellow, brown shading and pale edges keep the armour rich, while dust, sponged damage and hand-painted heraldry add history. The judges praise the smooth gradient and the restraint that prevents the yellow becoming pastel.

Painting Question: Seeing Red (and Black)
