Golden Demon: Gandalf the Grey

Martin gives Gandalf a quiet moment in the Shire, building a naturalistic pier base and varying the blues and browns within the grey clothing. The tiny face and overhanging hat demand careful access and scale. The judges credit the refined textures and colour variation that keep a predominantly grey subject from becoming flat.
