It’s All in the Blending: Magnus the Red
January 2018·pp. 92–93
THE SHORT VERSION
Marc Masclans’s gold-winning Magnus combines a cool palette with floating symbols built from wire and putty. He describes controlled brush direction, glazes and textured strokes for blending and non-metallic metals, then uses airbrushed light and fluorescent colour to make the hand-held symbols illuminate the surrounding body and feathers.
