Defence of Konor
June 2017·pp. 70–83
THE SHORT VERSION
Robin Cruddace’s 185-power Ultramarines defend an industrial route against Dan Harden’s 188-power coalition of Death Guard, Black Legion, Nurgle Daemons and a Renegade Knight. The narrative Meat Grinder mission gives Chaos returning units while concealed deployment helps the defenders establish strong fire bases; characters, command rerolls, falling back and outflanking stratagems become central lessons in the new rules.
Guilliman destroys several enemy leaders but is nearly overwhelmed, while the exploding Knight wreaks havoc among both armies. The game ends after five rounds with Imperial survivors still holding out and Guilliman rising again, granting the Ultramarines victory; the post-battle discussion weighs support auras, command-point timing and the difficulty of eliminating every defender.
