Paint Splatter: Hive Guard — Hive Fleet Kraken
January 2014·pp. 114–115
THE SHORT VERSION
A diluted sepia wash over a white undercoat establishes the Hive Guard’s pale skin without a conventional opaque basecoat. Red carapace, fleshy weapon symbiotes and electric-blue shock tendrils are treated separately to keep the creature’s functions readable. The guide also gives a small yellow-eye recipe and refers back to the previous page’s black-claw sequence.
