REVIEW·WHITE DWARF 406

Betrayer

October 2013·p. 32

THE SHORT VERSION

Jes praises the novel’s mirrored relationships between Angron and Lorgar, and Khârn and Argel Tal. Angron’s enslavement and the Butcher’s Nails make the World Eaters’ violence tragic rather than uncomplicated. Lorgar’s apparent concern for his brother adds uncertainty to his larger schemes. Large battles and consequential revelations grow from those relationships rather than replacing them.
