Phoenix Feathers and Details
May 2013·p. 111
THE SHORT VERSION
Three feather treatments create dark, medium and pale areas within the same fiery bird. Brown and bone-coloured stages distinguish the beak from the plumage. Thin paint and medium support gradual transitions rather than heavy stripes. A sidebar explains the intended milk-like consistency and a starting dilution for the glazes.
