THE SHORT VERSION

Dave Thomas draws on Juggernauts and the Maulerfiend to develop the cannon’s armoured exterior. A shovel-like shape unlocks the idea of a lower jaw collecting bodies as the machine advances. Its mouth stretches around the wheel rather than following normal animal anatomy. Leaving out eyes makes its tongue and appetite central to the impression that the machine is alive.
