The Mutalith Vortex

THE SHORT VERSION

A vivid colour transition makes the Mutalith’s magical orb stand out from the army around it. Dan first tests the sequence on a small area, then blends from dark blue through turquoise into green and yellow. A violet wash is the final listed stage. Keeping the paint slightly diluted helps the successive colours merge without drying into chalky patches.

Opening Salvo

Slaughterbrute and Mutalith Vortex Beast

Two builds from one plastic kit embody different kinds of Chaos horror. The Slaughterbrute combines immense limbs and an expressive head with the blades of a binding ritual embedded in its back. Dragon Ogres

The new plastic Dragon Ogres combine heavy upper bodies with three distinct reptilian forms. Weapon choices range from paired hand weapons to enormous two-handed blades and hammers. Scarred faces, fins, scales and spines create variation while retaining the creatures’ shared identity.
