THE SHORT VERSION

Lee Barber’s qualifying Armies on Parade display places a converted Kult of Speed on a road through its scenic base. A Stompa and several aircraft extend the action above the vehicles. One plane has crashed, while another rests high on a landing pad and combines scavenged parts. The photographs emphasise movement, checkerboard markings and the use of vertical space.
