Battleground: The Valley of Skulls

November 2012·pp. 90–95

THE SHORT VERSION

Ray Dranfield and Mick Cudworth build a battlefield around a renegade wizard’s ramshackle tower and thousands of skulls. Witchfate Tor forms the core, widened Temple of Skulls pieces stabilise the base, and rooms from other kits project outward on precarious supports. Spare stone faces become carved hillside monuments, while an altar and soul pool extend the story. The designers discuss visual inspiration, usable standing spaces and the practical labour behind roughly four thousand five hundred skulls.
