INTERVIEW·WHITE DWARF 395

Breaking Down the Walls

November 2012·pp. 128–129

THE SHORT VERSION

Dave Andrews describes years of experiments that led from impractical trenches built into thick boards to a sectional network placed on existing terrain. He deliberately avoids familiar historical trench materials, imagining prefabricated fortifications delivered and assembled by the Mechanicus instead. Imperial imagery and dead Cadians supply the 40K identity, while physical mock-ups test squad capacity, weapon-team positions, storage and varied arrangements before the finished kit is produced.
