INTERVIEW·WHITE DWARF 394

Citadel Hall of Fame: The Nightbringer

October 2012·pp. 94–95

THE SHORT VERSION

Anja Wettergren nominates Alex Hedström’s Nightbringer for the strength of its simple, sweeping design and the freedom it offers painters. She recalls choosing the model as a competition prize and admires Martin Footit’s non-metallic treatment. Hedström explains how metal-casting constraints changed the original vortex concept into the familiar looming pose, whose clean lines subsequently made it a popular starting point for conversions ranging from Daemon Princes to Sanguinius.
