Battle Report: Chaos Space Marines vs. Space Marines

October 2012·pp. 60–75

THE SHORT VERSION

Andrew Kenrick tests the new Chaos codex against Adam Troke’s White Scars in a 1,750-point Big Guns Never Tire battle. Cultists screen the expensive units, Veterans of the Long War make Chaos Marines frightening in assault, and a Heldrake devastates infantry and even destroys a Dreadnought; the Forgefiend instead suffers repeated overheating. Both sides lose their scoring troops, but the White Scars win 4–0 through secondary objectives. The post-game discussion examines wasted Cultist opportunities, character equipment and the psychological effect of the new Daemon Engines.
