Blanchitsu: The Nurgle Chaos Lord
August 2012·pp. 88–91
THE SHORT VERSION
John Blanche explores why Brian Nelson’s plastic Nurgle Lord inspires so many painters and converters: its broad skin areas and strong character can sustain very different interpretations. Contributors contrast warm and cold tones, internal and external corruption, handmade Nurglings and Imperial conversions for Inquisitorial warbands. Blanche’s own Servitor and Luminark-based figures show the kit moving beyond its original fantasy identity, while Mike Anderson’s surgical inspiration demonstrates how real observation can inform disturbing painted flesh.
