Painting Workshop: Thunderwolf Cavalry

March 2012·pp. 62–67

THE SHORT VERSION

Steve Bowerman separates each rider from its Thunderwolf so drybrushing the fur will not interfere with smooth armour layers and precise highlights. He discusses testing the rider’s pose against the mount, using the kit’s locating peg or carefully adjusting the joint for a stronger sense of interaction. Three different fur schemes make the beasts individual, while consistent armour, metallics and company icons keep the pack recognisably part of Harald Deathwolf’s force.
