PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 387

Finishing Details and Company Icons

March 2012·pp. 66–67

THE SHORT VERSION

Bowerman finishes the cavalry with separate shaded recipes for gold, silver and exposed skin, then maps the black pack markings with dots before joining and filling the design. Small details include glowing red bionic lenses, worn saddles and purple mouths. For Harald Deathwolf’s company badge he cuts the wolf head from an existing transfer, paints around it and adds a white star, showing how transfers and freehand work can combine to make an otherwise unavailable icon.
