Painting Workshop: Tervigon

March 2012·pp. 44–49

THE SHORT VERSION

Steve Bowerman paints a Hive Fleet Behemoth Tervigon in separate body and leg assemblies so its belly and incubation sacs remain accessible. He tests the scheme on one leg before committing to the whole monster, balancing vivid red flesh with dark, turquoise-edged carapace and pale swollen sacs. The final assembly and selective gloss treatments make the finished model look wet and alien without covering every surface in the same shine.
