PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 387

Tom Hutchings’ Splinter Fleet Hydra

March 2012·pp. 32–33

THE SHORT VERSION

Tom Hutchings imagines Hydra as a meeting of Leviathan and Kraken, painting red and purple organisms with dark claws and occasional green or blue accents. His central technique is an equal mixture of Ogryn Flesh, Leviathan Purple and Gloss Varnish over white, giving shade and a sheen in one stage. The collection supports several army styles, with future Gargoyles and Raveners intended to expand its airborne and subterranean options.
