PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 384

Modelling Workshop: Skullvane Manse

December 2011·pp. 78–83

THE SHORT VERSION

Chris Peach paints the observatory by working from its largest material towards the smallest details: sprayed stone, brickwork, wood, roof tiles and fittings. The separate dome receives weathered gold, while varied washes and selectively coloured tiles avoid a uniform new-building appearance. Final dirt, droppings and a reflective telescope lens turn the finished terrain into an occupied but neglected structure.
