Painting Masters: Neil Green

December 2011·pp. 98–103

THE SHORT VERSION

Neil Green recalls learning from Nottingham store staff, practising for three years and joining Mike McVey’s studio team before completing a Golden Demon entry. He favours small palettes and draws inspiration from manga, digital art and games, using controlled colour variation rather than a large number of unrelated hues. His collection illustrates that approach through transparent lenses, digital camouflage, freehand banners, aged surfaces and contrasting spot colours, without supplying named recipes.
