PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 384

Painting the Observatory Dome

December 2011·p. 80

THE SHORT VERSION

Tin Bitz supports successive gold drybrushes and a fine silver highlight, while the comet motif is painted more carefully. A turquoise-and-dark-green wash creates verdigris, with excess wiped away before it dries. Reapplying a light silver stage restores worn raised metal above the corrosion.
