Painting Ruins

July 2011·p. 91

THE SHORT VERSION

A sprayed brown-grey mix establishes the ruin before increasingly pale green-grey drybrushes pick out its texture. Circular brush motion helps avoid visible streaks across the architectural detail. The final white-and-Rotting-Flesh pass sharpens the raised surfaces, while black stippling marks bullet holes and broken edges with concentrated battle damage.
