Applying Battle Damage and Blood Drop Markings
February 2011·p. 99
THE SHORT VERSION
Nick paints orange shapes where armour would wear, then fills them with a dark grey-black mixture while leaving the orange rim visible. A simple crossed guide establishes the blood-drop outline, which is filled in pale stone and chipped by stippling the surrounding red back over it. Both demonstrations make damage follow plausible edges and exposed areas instead of scattering it arbitrarily across the model.
