Modelling Workshop: Colours of the Under-Empire

January 2011·pp. 86–93

THE SHORT VERSION

Duncan Rhodes and Chad Mierzwa use Uniforms & Heraldry of the Skaven to give plastic regiments specific clan identities. Colour schemes, banners, shield runes and small physical changes translate the illustrated background into armies, from volcanic Volkn and naval clans to Albino Guard, electrical enthusiasts and plague-fanatics. The examples show why names and stories can guide practical paint choices and conversions instead of leaving a collection as an anonymous mass of rats.
