Lauraen mistakes manipulated visions for a threat to the Everqueen and leads her Glittering Host into a trap near Salzenmund. The Howling Coven’s daemons turn the newly presented terrain into active instruments of ruin: monuments strengthen champions, barricades curse defenders and portals pour out corruption. Lauraen realises too late that the murdered Elven figure in her vision was herself, and only a few survivors escape.
