TACTICS·WHITE DWARF 368

Harbingers of Destruction

August 2010·pp. 38–43

THE SHORT VERSION

Mat Ward reassesses Daemons of Chaos for the newly released Warhammer rules. Immunity to psychology and Instability make them dependable but remove the option to flee, while Fear and ward saves help without compensating for small expensive units. He compares each god’s battlefield strengths and explains why supporting ranks make some lesser daemons better horde candidates than others.

Heralds strengthen units through their loci but must survive to maintain those benefits. Greater Daemons compete with large regiments for points, while magical combinations and support units provide alternatives to relying on a single monster. The 1,996-point Bilehost of Epidemius demonstrates a mixed army and offers ways to expand or reduce it.
