Standard Bearer: The Joy of Tanks

June 2010·pp. 82–83

THE SHORT VERSION

Jervis Johnson traces his fascination with tanks to childhood model kits and the pleasure of adding stowage, commanders and signs of wear. He recalls how Adeptus Titanicus and Space Marine established a range of armoured machines before large plastic kits were practical. Although Spearhead provides a new way to use them, his central argument is that assembling, converting and painting a convincing vehicle can be a satisfying hobby in its own right.
