Chalice
April 2010·p. 78
THE SHORT VERSION
The Sanguinor’s chalice receives a cooler non-metallic treatment than his armour. Grey layers establish the light areas, while blue-black shadows and restrained white highlights imply a reflective silver surface. Keeping the effect subtle prevents the small ceremonial object from competing with the golden figure, and the finished-model discussion confirms that the same method is reused on the halo and neck chain for consistency.
