The Body: Skin, Scales and Wings
February 2010·p. 87
THE SHORT VERSION
The Fell Beast’s skin moves through black-and-khaki layers, dark washes and pale mottling on the underbelly. Grey-drybrushed scales instead receive purple and black washes, while the membranes begin much lighter before their final shade. A short stippling demonstration explains how repeated irregular taps create organic variation, helping the large model remain visually interesting within a deliberately restrained palette.
