PAINTING GUIDE·WHITE DWARF 359
Painting White: Neutral, Warm and Cool
November 2009·p. 97
THE SHORT VERSION
The workshop distinguishes hard neutral whites from cool clean cloth and warmer worn fabrics. It explains how undertones and surface material change the effect even when the final highlight is the same. Foundation paints provide coverage without requiring a thick layer. Organic white surfaces can instead be defined with local shading rather than a strongly coloured base.
