THE SHORT VERSION

Flesh colour mixed into the dark wash makes stubble appear beneath the skin. Two related mixtures build the effect without becoming a full beard. Renewed highlights soften the transition into the rest of the face. The same approach can suggest a shaved scalp if the natural hairline is respected.
