Painting Faces: Character Ork
August 2009·p. 95
THE SHORT VERSION
A natural green mid-tone replaces a brighter cartoon-like approach. Brown and dark washes establish depth before warm highlights rebuild the form. Red around lips and scars and blue near the eyes imply living colour beneath the skin. Final highlights integrate those additions into a face intended for a special character model.
