THE SHORT VERSION

Mark takes the quick march and finds his soldiers caught in a dangerous confined deployment. Panic and fleeing cavalry disrupt the artillery, while the Beastmen attempt to exploit their surprise. Greatswords and Flagellants hold critical ground despite the loss of the commander. The Empire survives to claim a costly victory, sending only a limited reinforcement contingent north.
