INTERVIEW·WHITE DWARF 348

Thirty Years On…

December 2008·pp. 30–35

THE SHORT VERSION

Alan and Michael Perry recount being hired while still at school, learning casting constraints through mistakes and gradually moving from free-ranging fantasy figures to organised Warhammer ranges. Favourite models and historical examples trace their influence on monsters, troops and Middle-earth. Michael describes returning to sculpting left-handed after losing his right arm. Their friendship with John Howe and Peter Jackson connects later licensed work with a much longer fascination for history and Tolkien.
