Blanchitsu: Translucent Ork Flesh
October 2008·p. 86
THE SHORT VERSION
John Blanche mixes a dark flesh foundation from Snakebite Leather with small amounts of white and green, then shades it with Devlan Mud. A lighter version of the base restores the highlights before a final green wash unifies the surface. The experiment is intended to suggest the layered, translucent quality he observes in real skin rather than starting with a conventional opaque green. It accompanies his new massed biker project.
