’Eavy Metal Masterclass: Dreadlord
September 2008·pp. 94–99
THE SHORT VERSION
Neil Green paints Mike Anderson’s Dreadlord on Jes Goodwin’s Cold One with a deliberately cool mount and rich purple clothing. Blue-grey highlights prevent the green hide from becoming too warm, while restrained gold marks the rider and beast as exceptional. The guide follows every major surface through layered colour and washes, then adds a carefully planned shield rune. Joe Tomaszewski’s alternative standard bearer illustrates gold inlay and a related heraldic approach.
