Modelling Workshop: Mordor Terrain
August 2008·pp. 94–99
THE SHORT VERSION
Chad Mierzwa builds a shared visual language for Mordor from twisted trees, angled stone, razor-thorn bushes and incandescent lava. Simple materials such as bark, slate and rubberised horse hair become small terrain pieces, while foam and filler form a full volcanic board with Mark Jones. Exact painting sequences distinguish hot lava from patchy ash wastes. Reprinted terrain rules and an Eye marker connect the modelling directly to the supplement’s hazardous battlefields.
