PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 342

Using the Citadel Washes

June 2008·pp. 30–31

THE SHORT VERSION

The guide explains how wash quantity changes the strength of shading and compares selective application with an overall coat. Chad’s Haradrim example receives highlights before several coloured washes, blending transitions and strengthening recesses. A second demonstration shades metal immediately after its basecoat and adds bright highlights afterwards. Smaller examples show how the same approach changes Orc armour, Plaguebearer skin, old bone and Bloodletter flesh.
