Finishing Touches: Obsidian and Fire
June 2008·p. 99
THE SHORT VERSION
Purple flesh colours define the tongue, while the sword and claws use sharp grey-white marks over black to suggest obsidian and growth lines. The burning skull reverses ordinary highlighting: white recesses form the hottest core and darker yellow, orange, red and black move towards the flame tips. Tiny pale marks suggest cinders. Joining the head and finishing the sand base completes the model after these deliberately different surface effects.
