Eltharion: Painting Metallics

January 2008·p. 95

THE SHORT VERSION

Anja finishes the metal before surrounding details to reduce the risk of stray metallic pigment. Brown enriches the gold base, followed by warm metal layers, shaded recesses and silver-modified highlights for a polished finish. The weapons use blue and black ink to give their silver an Ithilmar character. Fine final edges unify the gleam across armour, saddle decoration, sword and spear without treating every metallic area as the same material.
